About Chantrelle Girse:
Chantrelle Girse mushroom belongs to Cantharellus family and grows in groups in dedidous woods or mixed woods. They appear at the end of the Autumn. It is a saprophytic mushroom. They are various colors like yellow, dark brown and grey. They are found in Mexico, America, Europe. This mushroom has flavoured for fruity scent and texture. They contain the high amount of vitamin A, Potassium, Iron, Protein and chromium.
Description of Chantrelle Girse:
The mushroom has a small convex hat which is dry and fluffy and communicating with hollow foot in age. The hats are 3-7 cm. long, wavy and sinuous margin and grey-brown color. The bright white foots are thin and hollow, fading and exposure, brown towards the hat. The blades are very spaced, thick, and forked near the margin and tan yellow and the spores are white. The flesh are thin and sweet flavour with fruity taste. The foot is 5-13 cm long and hollow, bright yellow, flexuous, fading with age of exposure. They grow mainly on moss, pine, fern and other broadleave trees.
Storage:
Brush up the mushroom, clean or wash the cool water to remove the dirt. Then cut the mushroom into pieces at the end of the stem and keep them in dry container in the refrigerator upto 1 week.
Taste and use:
They are earthy and mossy flavour and the whole stem is very tasty. They are best suited for cooking applications like boiling, frying and sauteing. They are served with different dishes like rice, bread, baked into puffs or biscuits, mixed stews or soup, cheese, onion, garlic. Chantrelle Girse mushrooms are pair well with pork, rabbit, gills, seafood, fish, egg, spinach, white wine, red wine vineger. They have strong and meaty flavour when they cooked with butter and cream sauces with games. Tasty and slightly elastic consistency, they develop in the group of numerous individual spread.
