About Chantrelle Girolle:
Chantrelle Girolle is the common name of several species genera Gomphus and Cantharellus. They are edible of wild mushrooms and well known of Chantrelle mushroom family in France. They have various shaped and colors. They are meaty flavour and peppery taste. They are found in all countries America and UK. They grow under the leafy trees like oak, chestnut forest in the small humid area from June to November.
Description of Chantrelle Girolle:
Chantrelle Girolle is various color orange, white, yellow and funnel shapes texture. They have smooth cap with white creamy flesh. The color of the foot is pale, 2-5 cm. height and cylindrical shaped. The caps grow around twigs and bumbles. The blade folds descend on the foot and broad near the margin. Many species have fruity aroma and nutty flavour. The hat is 5-10 cm. wide and has longebity upto 1 month. The consistency is firm and it is tasted as much as hat. The skin of the mushroom is smooth, glabrous and orange color.
Storage:
This mushroom is kept in refrigerator in a closed paper bag for a week. When they may slightly dry they have no harmness in their flavour and texture. Wet mushrooms do not store well.
Taste and use:
If the Chantrelle Girolle is dirty first rinse in cool water and brush up all dirt and clean with towel or kitchen paper. They are most versatile and delicious wild mushroom with its color, taste and texture. They have fruity odour, earthy fragrance and spicy. The most favourable cooking method like sauté in butter or cream, sauces is used for this mushroom. It accompanies with roast pork, meat, fish, omelette and egg. With little pepper and salt, then serve them with the toasted bread. The good cooking process, after baking this mushroom for 15 mints with chicken broth with chopped onions and is served with rice or pasta.
